28 Hours And Counting...

In about 28 hours, I will be on my way home from the office and starting a new chapter - Stay at Home Mom, Part I. I am excited and nervous. The first few weeks will be the hardest, but I am confident that sleeping in and several trips to the mall will cure any longing for the corporate world that might creep up. In fact as part of my first duty (after taking Colin to his play dates and cuddle time) I will be planning a retirement / celebration party .....couple of cheese tables, appletini station, poker tables in the backyard.....hmmm

In order to get prepared for the big day, the family went to my office and helped me pack boxes. I love watching the movie Office Space because cubicle ville is where I have spent 40 hours a week for the past 11 years and we have a lot of "stapler" people who should be relocated to the basement. Especially the one that sits in this cube....

I will miss the view that I see while standing on a chair peering over my cubicle wall.... However, I will not miss the traffic or saying Bye-Bye to Little Man every morning.
The biggest thing I am looking forward to is spending more time with my team and putting together some strategic action plans (had to use that corporate jargon somewhere)....

SURPRISE!!

It happens to be my birthday weekend and honestly I almost forgot. Adam and I were having a relaxing weekend and didn't have much planned..... so I thought. The only thing on the agenda was cleaning the garage, I know everyone wishes they could clean their garage when the temperature is 105 degrees with 150% humidity. Well, I should've suspected something else was planned when I found a chocolate cake big enough to feed 5,000 in the closet (hmmm), Adam ignoring his cell phone when it kept beeping (hmmm), and the fact that Adam kept reminding me that we were going to Costco at 3:30 (why 3:30 - is there a big giveaway that we need to go to??). But I was just oblivious and unknowing complied with his entire plan.... We went to Costco and came back to find a house full of guests waiting to SURPRISE me. I was completely caught off guard and hopefully didn't say anything that I will regret later :)

Needless to say, I was in shock and after that wore off, I was thankful that my husband was so thoughtful and my friends were there to wish me a happy birthday. I am truly blessed to have great friends around, it was a very special afternoon.

And what would a surprise party be without a little swimming pool fun?

And a little Hersey's Kiss snack..... Miles liked sampling the morsels, but was a little confused what the yummy brown center was..... But I assure you that he was more than happy to continue taste testing, right Robyn?

How could we capture the excitement without a group picture of the little tikes? Next time I will be a bit more fancy and create a collage, but I haven't finished my Blogging 101 class yet. Who do you think has been practicing their game faces???
Alas, we were able to gather the tikes and thanks to Jen's Portrait Innovation skills, we were able to get the majority of the kids to look at the camera.

Also, in attendance at the party were a few celebrities..... The Hammer Twins. Okay, I should explain the Hammer twins a little bit.... Little Man and Brother love their blankies, but of course it isn't manly to have a blankie, so Adam calls the blankies "hammers".
I know, they may be a little lost on construction sites.... but we are totally okay with that.

Thanks everyone for coming over to celebrate me turning another year older. It meant a lot to me. And of course, thanks to my husband for being so thoughtful. Stay tuned for the next King Surprise......

Who Said Cheaters Never Win???

A friend of ours is moving to Minnesota, so the "family" crowd headed to Peter Piper Pizza for the going away party.

During the first part of the evening, I was making sure that Little Man was minding his manners, taking turns, and being respectful of the games....then the competitive Feather came out and things drastically changed.

Little Man had more fun putting the balls in the "zero" slot because of the funny sounds, but Feather helped him to get the high score of.....

And of course Little Man started a trend for all the kids to play the game with these new rules. The manager is so happy with Feather!

Our Favorite Pastime

In our free time, we love to look at model homes, to get ideas and act like we live in the houses we are touring. During our last tour, Little Man wanted to take this pillow with him to every room in every house. He would carry it to every room and rest on it…..well; it was more like protect it because I was constantly trying to put it back where it belonged (that’s the OCD part of me kicking in).

Also on the tour, Lttle Man’s shorts were the center of attention with such names as “golf boy”, “snazzy pants”, and “trend setter”. I didn’t know the plaid shorts would get so much attention; I’m going to buy myself a matching pair.

We thought we could do some “remodeling” to our current house to make it look like this… anyone available next weekend to help?

This is where it all began....

Well, some people probably thought I would never start a blog and they would've been right if I didn't locate this fabulous blog template! I began making my first post and thought, where on Earth do I start....birth... no... elementary school.. maybe... high school.. too incriminating. Then I figured I would start with one of the happiest days of my life, when I married my husband. Most people have not seen my wedding pictures because I have not actually ordered any to be framed! Okay, I haven't even gotta through the first post and I am already making confessions. I hope you enjoy the pictures and more to come....
